The brief

Find a great value Malaysian hotel with a peaceful resort feel as well as fantastic conference facilities (including several breakout rooms for individual meetings). It had to be luxurious as it was to act as a motivator and a thank you for the 120-strong sales force. Partners were also included so there needed to be plenty to keep them occupied during the meetings.

The solution

We organised a site inspection to Penang and Langkawi and the client plumped for the latter, thanks to its idyllic tropical setting. The Andaman Hotel, with its white sandy beach, rainforest and impressive conference facilities was perfect. Activities included a swamp expedition, cable car ride, golf and dining at traditional local restaurants as well as a gala dinner on the hotel beach.

The verdict

It was declared a resounding success. The proof is in the pudding – we were immediately asked to search for the right destination for next year’s conference, this time in South America.
